Greetings from the airport! The time has finally come for me to head off to college!
It’s 4 a.m. and I don’t know how I’m awake on 2 hours of sleep, but here I am! The day before was hectic. We spent a majority of the day finishing up last-minute errands, one of them being getting my driver’s license. I’m pretty excited to have it even though I won’t be driving at school. I feel like it’s the final right of passage into semi-adulthood.
I love getting to the airport at odd hours. The fast lines, the vast emptiness of the building, and the more relaxed faces of the 2 a.m. crowd makes the airport a much better experience. I’m about to head to Starbucks and fill up on coffee and scones.
So, I’m not moving into my dorm and heading off to orientation just yet. Before move-in day, freshmen get the chance to go on a first-year trip. It’s a fun-filled camping excursion with all types of options for activities in the nearby woods of New Hampshire. I’ll be going on the Nature Art/Writing trip! I expect it will be an amazing time and I can’t wait to discuss and appreciate the beauty of the nature with some of my future classmates.
We aren’t allowed to have any electronics, so you’ll unfortunately be getting radio silence from me until I return in about a week. (I know, I know. You’re probably thinking “What will I do without my weekly dose of Lola!?” Just breathe.) I’ll be back with stories of my first encounter with actual nature, what it’s like to not be able to bathe for a week, and a lot of pictures.
I’m attempting to vlog the experience but it’s proved to be a little difficult because I’m managing so much other stuff at the same time. If it ends up working out well, I’ll definitely post it up on Youtube so you can check it out!
In the mean time, wish me luck as I take my first steps into college!
